We're all ready for this year's Open Studios Ayrshire event - we're venue number 10 in the brochure and Alan's studio in Kirkmichael will be open to visitors from 10 - 4, Friday 25th - Monday 28th April. 

This is a pretty place to visit in the spring with lots of walks in the countryside round about and a fascinating historic Kirkyard just along the road, with a famous Covenanter's grave among many other interesting old stones.  

Perhaps more importantly, the village boasts a community run shop and cafe and a newly renovated country pub, so whether you fancy a light lunch and some of Isi and Alison's delicious home baking - or something more substantial with a glass of wine or a pint of real ale - the village can cater for you!  The studio is also open at other times, but only by arrangement. If you like any of the artworks you see here and would like to arrange a private viewing, don't hesitate to get in touch. 

April has come very quickly and we're looking forward to - and making preparations for - the Open Studios Ayrshire event at the end of the month. The official event is on the weekend of the 26th / 27th April, but we've chosen to open the studio, here in Kirkmichael, for another couple of days. We'll be open from 10am till 4pm from Friday 25th until Monday 28th April just in case anyone finds it difficult to get here over the weekend. Nevertheless, we're expecting most of the visitors to be here on Saturday and Sunday. There will be pictures of all kinds, some prints and plenty of cards for sale and if you are interested in a print that we don't have in stock, you can also place an order on the day. But if you just want to come and have a look then you'll be made very welcome!

We never get quite as many as the big venues in or near Ayr, but if the weather is good, it's a nice drive out to the village and to the venues beyond. And you can get a good light lunch with delicious home baking in our local community cafe, just along the road - or something more substantial in our beautifully renovated pub nearby. Both venues are also gearing up to offer hospitality to visitors!
